The Ambrosia apple

Ambrosia is a new winter Canadian apple variety, ripening in late October or early November. The fruit weighs about 215 grams, mostly red with yellow stains. The apple has a sweet taste, looks like a pear and is characterized by good winter hardiness and drought resistance, is resistant to diseases.

This variety was originated in British Columbia in the early 1990s. The first tree was revealed by the Mannell family, they found it in their garden in Similkamin-Valley, British Columbia.

he Ambrosia apple is the “club” variety, patented by the organization, which sets quality standards and provides marketing, but production is limited to club members. The name was never registered, and the patent expired in Canada and the United States.

Ambrosia is the most common in British Columbia, where it was found. It is the third-largest apple growing in the province. It is also distributed in Ontario, Nova Scotia and many other places around the world.
