The Gala apple – in translation means “festive”, is the variety, bred by breeders of New Zealand in the late 50s of the 20th century.
The fruit has an average size and weight of 115 – 145 g, not exceeding 170 g. The main color is yellow or green-yellow. Apples are very juicy and crispy, taste sweet and sour. The flavor looks like a walnut caramel. The Gala apple is one of the top three most popular varieties. The Kids Orange variety and the Golden Delicious apple tree were used to create a new fruit.
In the early 1970s, a new variety began to be cultivated worldwide. The Gala apple was bred in New Zealand, but it was the most common in the United States, Latin America and Europe.
